Nelly Furtado : Diary : How "Mi Plan" started

Now that "Mi Plan" is out and I have been able to share it with you guys, I go back and think how interesting the creation process is. I personally can only write if I am inspired, and the inspiration for this album was my daily life and everyday moments. I would go to the studio and meet with Lester Mendez or Alex Cuba and James Bryan and they would play a track for me and based on what had happened in my day the melodies would start flowing and words or images would come to my head, I would then sit with Alex or Lester and finish the lyrics to the melodies that the feeling of the song inspired me. Someday I would love to show you guys how the melodies are born and then you can compare it with the finished song....I don't know just felt like sharing that with you!

-Imeen: First question, why do an all Spanish language album now? What triggered it?
-Nelly: Well when i started to work on the new album i had no inspiration, then i tired it in Spanish and everything seemed to come together

-Imeen: That's awesome it worked out that way. Do you ever dream in Spanish? Has a song ever come to you in a dream?
-Nelly: Yes, while writing the songs for this album some ideas came in my sleep...maybe a word or a melody

-Imeen: Cool, so tell us something funny/inspirational/awesome about Alex Cuba...
-Nelly: Alex Cuba is the nicest guy! he is an incredible musician & he was my partner in crime writing 7 of the songs in the album he would say: "you paint the picture I will frame it!"

-Imeen: You must feel blessed to have worked with such talented producers so far, have you ever thought about trying it out yourself?
-Nelly: I actually coproduced 3 on this album including "Mi Plan" I lov producing & workin w great producers 2 make songs the best they can b

-Imeen: If you had not become a singer, what would you be?
-Nelly: I would definitely still be a music lover and FAN! maybe a writer, I love writing!

-Imeen: what's the craziest thing you've ever experienced at a concert? Either your show or one you just attended
-Nelly: i think falling off the stage! the lights were 2 bright on my eyes & didnt c the edge. fortunately my manage was close & caught me

Canada's Walk of Fame Announces Celebrity Presenters Nelly Furtado, Gordon Lightfoot, Elisha Cuthbert, Rachelle LeFevre, Paula Patton, Daria Werbowy, Janet Suzman, and Brian Williams

TORONTO, Sept. 8 /CNW/ - The stars will be shining on Canada's Walk of Fame as Canwest announces star studded list of celebrity presenters slated to appear at the prestigious awards during the gala broadcast.

Canada's Walk of Fame will air Sunday, September 13th - 9pm ET/PT on Global and SLICE(TM). The annual tribute is presented to a selection of internationally recognized and outstanding Canadians for their lifetime achievements in the fields of music, sport, film and television, literature, visual and performing arts, science and innovation.

Nelly Furtado will co-host the MTV latino Awards with Residente

MTV Latin America today announced the Super international pop star Nelly Furtado join resident, Member of Calle 13, as co-anfitriona for the edition of this year the awards MTV 2009. In addition, Mexico, city and Buenos Aires join the previously announced Bogotá and Los Angeles to complete the multi-ciudad of the show this year's version. The MTV awards will have dramatic presentations of each city and will be transmitted on Thursday, 15 October 2009 together by MTV Latin America and MTV Tr3s in United States since Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, California. Likewise, the show will be seen on all around the world and MTVs by selected air channels which would soon be announced.

"We're excited to have her as co-anfitriona and share the stage with resident in the show this year," said José Tillán, producer Los Premios MTV 2009 Executive. Hey Everyone!

I can't believe that in a few short weeks, you will all be able to hear my fourth studio album, and my first ever in Spanish!

'Mi Plan' is being released on September 15th and I hope you guys love it. After releasing and touring to promote 'Loose' I wasn't sure what I wanted to do next. I wasn't feeling too inspired. Recording in Spanish, though, has created a whole new way for me to express myself, and completely re-invigorated my love of making music.

'Mi Plan' has some of the most amazing collaborations that I've ever done and I feel very fortunate to have worked with incredibly talented artists.
